DID YOU KNOW ABOUT DOGS IN TRUCKS?
As we all know it is very dangerous to have dogs in the back of an open pick-up truck. Each year Fish Creek sees many dogs with serious injuries from riding in the back of a truck (even dogs who had done it many times before). This is a bad idea and against city bylaws. Here is what the city's bylaw says:
"Dogs are only allowed to be transported in the back of a truck if the dog is either in a fully enclosed trailer, a truck bed covered with a topper, contained in a ventilated kennel which is secured to the truck bed, or securely tethered and not standing on bare metal."
Owners of dogs unsafely transport their animals can receive a fine of up to $1500.00. You can report this by calling 311 with the licence plate number and a vehicle description of the perpetrator. For more information visit the city bylaw page.
